Did Michael Goldenberg read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix? Or did he just skim through? The movie barely goes by the book at all, and when it does, it briefly touches and then moves on. Harry Potter fans were expecting a 3-4 hour movie, as the fifth book is the longest. This movie was shorter than Goblet of Fire and was missing so many key elements of the book! So many, in fact, that I cannot name them all.
Hagrid getting sacked for one. And McGonagall getting hit with stunners trying to defend him. There was too much cut out of the beginning. Not enough to explain the order. Sirius did not give Harry the picture, Moody showed it to him and Harry was disgusted by the thought of all those smiling faces going to their deaths. Why wasn't the portrait screaming? Nothing was said about Kreacher going to the Malfoys and being the one to tell Harry that Sirius wasn't home when he was. Where was Firenze?! The thestral scene was all wrong, Umbridge DID NOT sit in the O.W.L.s, nor did the fireworks go off during them. Cho Chang was not the Snitch. Where is the Weasley swamp?
Maybe he should go back, read the book, and then try it again. For we who read the Harry Potter books.
